The 2011 DMC San Antonio Regional

Hey folks!  This weekend, I'll be judging and showcasing at the 2011 San Antonio DMC (Disco Mix Club) DJ Battle at Korova.  I'm highly honored to be on the same regional showcase line-up as folks that I used to watch such as Swamp,  Rob Swift, Woody, Kico, Donnie Dee, Manila Ice, etc.  I'm looking forward to all of it and good luck to all competing!  Support your local talent regardless of where you from!

My Tuesdays

Every Tuesday, I have a routine (for now) that I'm really flattered to have.  I just wanted to share what I do when I'm not "playing out."  It involves education, students, and DJing.  I'll let you figure out the rest.

I got to take part in the Listening Lounge event at 111 Minna back in February.  It was a dope event to be apart of and it's always cool to DJ with folks you don't often get to DJ with.  Listening Lounge is an event that promotes "Dope" music of course but showcasing good DJing and Musicianship in two rooms.  Next time there is a "Listening Lounge" at 111 Minna, you should swing by and see what takes place.  Big up to all the Reignforest Collective; Ronostalgia, Cedication.Crimes, and Xariusound (some real creative names btw).

The 4onefunktion 4 Year Anniversary took place at the Elbo Room on Valencia St. in San Francisco.  Since 2006, 4onefunk has showcase many innovative, creative and talented musical individuals.  From many famous Bay Area groups such as Triple Threat DJs, The (Finger) Bangerz, Oakland Faders, Honor Roll Crew, The Park, Mixtape Weds, to folks such as Dam Funk, DJ Day, Exile, Kid Dragon, U-Turn, B.Bravo, Swift Rock, D-Styles, Dibia$e and many more.  We've been proud to have these talented individuals and more.  For this video, enjoy 4onefunk, Aron, F.A.M.E., and all the other individuals that make the 4onefunktion what it is.  Amazing...

I have an exclusive mix for urb online coming out so I just wanted to give you guys a little sample of what to expect.  It's a mix of Earth, Soul, and Funk.  It'll be out soon so please have patience.  It's one of those mixes you work on, listen to it later, then change over half of it.  I had to take a lot of good stuff but put a lot of other musical gems.  It's just one of those things.  It all sounds different a second time around...

Best of 2010: 1B "Skratchpad Unite"

Skratchpad 2010 Finale


The Skratchpad 2010 Finale featured a group of DJs from the Bay Area that represented the past, present, and future. It was a dope event to bare witness to and I'm proud to be a part of an event that brings unity in a community. The line-up was something that you could charge for but there is a sense of "give back" with the people that take part at skratchpad. It's sorta like a big "Scratch Picnic" because everyone brings equipment and skills for a fun night. Big super up to Cellskiii & Deeandriod, Erica, Windsor, Johnny Krush, Dalton for keeping it alive and to everyone else that helped in their own unique way. Stay tuned for more as Skratchpad will get more involved with others.
